Cat Eye Nails

Cat eye is a magnetic shimmer finish that goes on top of gel. At $20 it covers all ten nails and is added to a gel manicure or a gel, dip, solar or acrylic set. It is never booked on its own, so your total is the service you choose plus the add-on.

Good to know

Is cat eye a service on its own?
No. It is an add-on. It goes on top of a gel manicure or a gel, dip, solar or acrylic set, and it is priced on top of that service. A client who books cat eye expecting a full set for $20 would be surprised, so we say it plainly here and when you book.
What will it cost in total?
Your total is the service plus the $20 add-on, which covers all ten nails. A Basic Manicure with gel is $38, so with cat eye it comes to $58. If you want a full set, the set is priced separately and cat eye goes over it. The menu lists this add-on as Chrome/Cat Eye.
How much longer does it take?
Allow 15 to 30 extra minutes, depending on how intricate the design is. Tell us you want cat eye when you book so that time is set aside.
What does cat eye go over?
A gel manicure, builder gel, Gel-X, dip powder, or a solar or acrylic set. All of them can take it.
How does it work?
Cat eye uses a magnetic gel. After it is painted on and before it is cured under the lamp, a magnet is held over the nail to pull the particles into a band of light that seems to move as your hand does. Curing locks the pattern in place.
Can I choose my color?
Yes. Julie carries hundreds of colors. If you want a specific one she will custom match it, and if she cannot match it she will get it for you.
How long does it last?
It wears like the gel underneath it, typically two to three weeks depending on nail growth and daily activities.
Can I bring a photo?
Please do. Matching a picture is easier than matching a description, and it lets your technician tell you honestly before starting how the look will work on your nail shape and length.
