Sugar Land Town Square sets up a pumpkin patch every fall as a place for family photos, and this year it runs from October 1 through November 1. It sits between Starbucks and the Houston Marriott Sugar Land, and visiting costs nothing. Most people take their pictures and then walk over to the shops and restaurants nearby.

A few practical thoughts. Go on a weekday afternoon if you can, since softer light and fewer people make for better photos. Check the Town Square's own page for current details before you head out, because seasonal installations can change.

Photos put your hands front and center, wrapped around a pumpkin or resting on a child's shoulder. We suggest booking a manicure a day or two before your photo session so the color is at its best.
