This page covers Richmond and the communities that share its approach — Greatwood, Greatwood Manor and Aliana. They are grouped because they genuinely converge: whichever of the three you set off from, the last stretch is State Highway 6 South onto Town Center Boulevard North.
The distances are not what people assume. Richmond proper is 9.7 miles and about sixteen minutes, via South 3rd Street and US Highway 90A. Aliana is a similar sixteen minutes at 9.4 miles, out through Harlem Road to the Grand Parkway and back along 90A. Greatwood is much the closer of the three — 5.5 miles, about ten minutes, straight out to the Southwest Freeway and in via Brazos Drive.
At a quarter of an hour each way, this is a drive to make for work that holds. Solar and acrylic full sets, dipping powder, builder gel, Gel-X soft gel extensions and colour powder all run on a two-to-three week refill cycle rather than a weekly one. Pink and white and ombré finishes grow out more gracefully than a painted French line, which matters more the further you are travelling to have one corrected.
It is also the distance at which combining services stops being a convenience and becomes the point. Nails and waxing happen under one roof here — a full set with a facial waxing area added, or a manicure and spa pedicure booked together — so one sixteen-minute drive covers what would otherwise be two.

- Because the drive is effectively the same one. Greatwood was annexed by Sugar Land in 2017 but still shares Richmond's approach along the Southwest Freeway and Highway 6. Writing a separate near-identical page for it would help nobody, so it is covered here properly instead.
